The main use of enchanting is to augment the stats of gear, such as more strength, intellect, etc.; resistance to a particular branch of magic; increased spell damage or healing; increased speed (attack speed, mount speed etc.); or a variety of other effects. Enchanters also create specialty use items, such as [Wizard Oil] and trade goods, such as [Enchanted Leather]. Employing the services of an enchanter is one of the trickier things that a player may wish to do in WoW. For details on how to be savvy customer for those services read: Getting Enchantments Done. Players are able to make rings, trinkets, necklaces and statues, as well as cut gems for socketed items. Figurines are Jewelcrafter only items, and are a type of trinket that is Bind on Pickup. Special in Wrath of the Lich King are jewelcrafter only gems, which have stats bonuses that exceed the standard gems; they are varying cuts of dragon's eye and three jewelcrafter only gems may be equipped at one time. Those who have not purchased the expansion are able to use items created by Jewelcrafting, although only those with the Burning Crusade are able to learn the Jewelcrafting profession itself. Jewelcrafting also allows a player to cut gems recovered from mineral ores (copper, iron, mithril, etc) via Prospecting. Five pieces of ore are used up each time Prospecting is cast and the type and level of the gems prospected is dependent on the type of ore used as reagents. Icy Prism and Brilliant Glass are two jewelcrafting recipes which combine lesser gems and reagents and create rarer gems. Show less (-) |

In order to advance through Northrend, players were required to reach at least level 68, with the level cap for the expansion being 80. The first hero class was introduced, the Death Knight, that starts at level 55. Blacksmithing is a profession and is the art of forging items out of metals, minerals, and other trade goods. Blacksmiths utilize bars of metal unearthed and smelted by the mining profession along with various trade and magical goods to produce their wares. A blacksmith can create melee weapons, armor (mail and plate), trade items used as ingredients by other professions (such as rods for enchanters) and keys used to unlock a variety of items in the world. Additionally, blacksmiths can craft items that when applied to weapons can provide temporary (and in some cases, permanent) buffs to items. While they can create a variety of items, they strangely cannot repair these items when damaged, and must still use the services of a repair vendor. In general, blacksmithing mainly benefits mail and plate wearing classes for the unique armors that can be created. However, most (if not all) classes can use a good deal of the weapons produced by blacksmiths. Ideally, blacksmithing would be paired with mining as a second profession. Mining is not a prerequisite for the blacksmithing profession. Show less (-) |

WotLK Engineering 350 - 450 | Read Mode WotLK Engineering 350 - 450 | World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King is the second expansion set for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft, following The Burning Crusade. In order to advance through Northrend, players were required to reach at least level 68, with the level cap for the expansion being 80. The first hero class was introduced, the Death Knight, that starts at level 55. Engineering is a primary crafting profession by which one can create many useful and amazing items as well as complete vendor trash. Engineers can craft items that, in general, all classes find helpful in PvE and PvP. However, most of the items crafted by engineers are only employable by engineers. Many of these items come with a chance for unexpected backfires, often with hilarious results. Hunters in particular see a lot of use from engineer-made guns and scopes. Twinks also find engineering useful because there is no level requirement to the gear that can be made. Engineering profession recipes are known as Schematics. Two of the more notable of these are: [Jeeves], providing repair services to everyone and bank access to the engineer. There are also several engineer-only enhancers to boots, gloves, belts, cloaks, and a well known parachute cloak enhancement. For the Alliance faction, Gnomes benefit from a +15 racial bonus to their Engineering skill. Note that, unlike most professions, engineering is not exactly what you would call a money maker even when maxed, since most of the useful items that engineers create have an engineering requirement and thus there exists little to no market demand for them. Usually you will want to take engineering mostly for personal use with occasional sales to other players. Items like Mekgineer's Chopper give a very decent profit but feel lucky if you manage to sell one every week or two, other items with potential to be sold are the scopes for guns or bows and the engineering crafted pets like Lil' Smoky and Lifelike Mechanical Toad. Before patch 4.0.1 removed them, craftable arrows and bullets were a decent source of income for engineers.

The first hero class was introduced, the Death Knight, that starts at level 55. Mining allows you to find and mine minerals, ores, and stones from resource nodes scattered throughout the world. It is one of the primary professions. Materials from mining and the items miners can create from them are reagents needed for recipes within other professions. The Burning Crusade expansion was the first to introduce several mobs that are capable of being mined. Gatherer is an add-on that can keep track of historical mining data. It can keep track of when and where you last mined a node. Additionally, it can be partnered with GathererDB. This addon is a communal database of mined ore. GatherMate is a replacement for the now defunct Cartographer_Mining. It aims to be map addon independent. Weapons can also serve as a mining pick: [Kobold Excavation Pick] A [Gnomish Army Knife] cannot be used as a weapon but does function as: [Gyromatic Micro-Adjustor] Paladins, unholy death knights, druids and engineers have a slight advantage in mining because of speed-increasing abilities. As in real life, only certain creatures have skins, such as boars, wolves, dragonkin, Silithid, some Nerubians and, only very rarely, humanoids. The materials obtained from skinning are used primarily in the recipes of Leatherworkers and occasionally by Engineers, Blacksmiths, and Tailors. A skinner can skin corpses that were killed by other characters as long the corpse has been looted and the other character has not skinned it already. Unlike mining and herb gathering, skinning is frequently practiced, thus skinners will typically be able to skin creatures much higher level than they can kill.

The first hero class was introduced, the Death Knight, that starts at level 55. Cooking is one of the secondary professions in World of Warcraft. It is a crafting profession which, as the name suggests, revolves around making food-type consumable items. Food made with Cooking grants the [Well Fed] buff which, depending on the food eaten, provides temporary stat buffs which typically last for 1 hour. Examples include [Clefthoof Sausages] which boosts Versatility, [Barracuda Mrglgagh] which boosts Mastery, and [Ravenberry Tarts] which boosts Haste. Nearly all foods, even the ones not made with Cooking, also grant increased health regeneration while eating. Cooking can also be used to make certain entertaining consumables like the famous [Savory Deviate Delight] or "feast" items such as [Great Feast] which can be placed on the ground in order for several players to eat and benefit from it. The base ingredients for food is meat and fish though many foods also require spices, Cooking-specific ingredients such as [Juicycrunch Carrot], or even other food items. In some cases eggs (such as [Small Egg]), alcohol, herbs, or even more exotic ingredients are also used. High-level Well Fed buffs are powerful enough to make Cooking a popular profession. In particular end-game content often requires characters to have as good stats as possible to overcome various challenges, making Cooking foods a must. Show less (-) |
