Coin

Gold Guildwars 2

Coin is the most widely accepted form of in-game currency and is tracked in three denominations: Copper coin, Silver coin, and Gold coin. The amount of coin you hold is indicated on the bottom right of the inventory panel. Coin can be traded between players via the Trading Post or mail.

Cost versus Value

The wiki uses Cost and Value to mean two different things:

Cost is the purchase price listed by vendors.
Value is the amount of coin you receive when selling the item to a vendor.

Acquisition

Coin can be obtained by:

Looting fallen enemies
Opening containers
Completing events and hearts
Selling items to vendors
Trading with other players
Clearing dungeons
Map completion
Achievement rewards
Exchanging gems in the Currency Exchange tab of the Trading Post

Uses

Coin can be used for:

Purchasing items from vendors
Trading with other players
Using the Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic, Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic or Runecrafter's Salvage-o-Matic
Teleporting to a waypoint
Exchanging for gems in the Currency Exchange tab of the Trading Post

Value and representation within the game

In-game examples :

In the instance The Test Subject, Inquest agents are betting 10 gold coins on several subjects.
During Estate of Decay, Galina Edgecrusher bets the same amount on if she can shoot a Risen Chicken.
Before Lion's Arch's destruction, ambient dialogue labeled "centaur spearheads" as 5 gold (and upped to 10 gold) each.

Other examples

In an interview by the Spanish community with Scott McGough, Angel McCoy and Bobby Stein, when asked about comparing the value of money on Tyria to that of on Earth, the best comparison that could be given was taking the lowest value item (they used an egg, 1 copper) and compare that to local grocery stores. For the average of local US stores, this would put 1 copper to roughly equal $0.15, and 1 gold to about $1,541.67

12x PVP Ranked

Read Mode

12x PVP Ranked Win

PvP Rank is a measurement of a player's account wide experience in structured PvP. Rank is increased by accumulating rank points. Contents

Viewing Rank

When entering the structured PvP game type, the player's experience bar turns into a PvP rank bar. Here the player can see the current rank and progress towards next rank. To view total accumulated rank points, the player can open the Achievements panel, look under Competitive, and view progress towards the PVP Conqueror achievement.

Earning rank points

Rank points are earned at the end of a match and are based on whether your team won or lost and the duration the player was part of the match. Additionally, volunteering for auto-balance grants you the win bonus and provides you with an additional 25 rank points. Each top-stat you earn gives you another 5 Rank

Rank rewards

Whenever an account reaches a new PvP Rank, the player receives a rank-up chest based on the rank earned.

Rank1 - 9 = Small Rank-Up Ches

Rank 10 - 29 = Medium Rank-Up Chest

Rank 30 - 80 = Large Rank-Up Chest

12x PVP Ranked Win

For every 10 ranks earned a new finisher is unlocked for the account. This can also be displayed through the /rank command anywhere except for inside a WvW battleground, underwater, or during a structured PvP match.

Rabbit Rank Finisher (rank 1)

Deer Rank Finisher (rank 10)

Dolyak Rank Finisher (rank 20)

Wolf Rank Finisher (rank 30)

Tiger Rank Finisher (rank 40)

Bear Rank Finisher (rank 50)

Shark Rank Finisher (rank 60)

Phoenix Rank Finisher (rank 70)

Dragon Rank Finisher (rank 80)

With the release of Heart of Thorns, each 10 ranks also unlocks a new jungle themed PvP Reward Track which must then be completed to gain a Mordrem variation of the respective rank finisher. These Mordrem rank finishers have an overall green hue and contain thorns around the banner. All of them use the same base model except the Mordrem Dragon Finisher which has a Heart of Thorns legendary Wyvern instead.

GW2 Max Hero

Read Mode

GW2 Max Hero Point (750 Points) | Hero points are character currencies used to progress characters through training skills and traits.

A character is a customized avatar of the player in the game. Once created, the player uses the character to participate and progress through any of the three major game modes: Player versus Environment, Player versus Player, and World versus World. The number of characters on an account is limited by the number of slots available for character creation. They are the main protagonist in Guild Wars 2.

A skill is an ability which is activated by the player to perform an action. It is through skills that a character is able to do damage, protect themselves and their allies, and perform actions with objects in the environment. Skill selection is one of the most significant ways a player can customize how their character plays.

Skills are picked through a choice of weapon and unlocking and selecting slot skills into the skill bar. Skills are automatically improved as the player gains levels, and manually by increasing attributes and selecting traits. Types of skills available to a character are determined primarily by its profession with a few racial skills and a very few global special skills.

Traits are passive abilities that can enhance a character's skills, provide bonuses to damage and attributes, and modify their actions. Each profession has 15 minor and 45 major traits grouped into five specializations. Only a small number of traits can be equipped at a time, determined by chosen specialization. Three minor and three major traits can be equipped per specialization.

The trait interface is accessed through the Hero panel, in the Traits section of the Builds tab. Traits cannot be assigned until they are unlocked by spending Hero points earned either through leveling or performing hero challenges.

GW2 Griffon | Guild

Read Mode

GW2 Griffon | Guild Wars 2 is a free-to-play, massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by ArenaNet and published by NCSoft. Set in the fantasy world of Tyria, the core game follows the re-emergence of Destiny's Edge, a disbanded guild dedicated to fighting Elder Dragons, colossal Lovecraftian-esque entities that have seized control of Tyria in the time since the original Guild Wars (2005), a plot line that was concluded in the latest expansion End of Dragons (2022). The game takes place in a persistent world with a story that progresses in instanced environments.

Guild Wars 2 is the fourth major entry in the Guild Wars series, and claims to be unique in the MMO genre by featuring a storyline that is responsive to player actions, something which is common in single player role-playing games but rarely seen in multiplayer ones. A dynamic event system replaces traditional questing, utilising the ripple effect to allow players to approach quests in different ways as part of a persistent world. Also of note is the combat system, which aims to be more dynamic than its predecessor by promoting synergy between professions and using the environment as a weapon, as well as reducing the complexity of the Magic-style skill system of the original game.

The Griffon is a hidden mount found in the Crystal Desert in Path of Fire that can be unlocked after completing the Path of Fire storyline. The griffon's special movement ability is flight. While it cannot gain altitude above its starting point, apart from a substantial hop at the start, it can flap its wings periodically to regain some of the altitude lost in gliding, allowing near-level flight. By hopping on to structures or elevated terrain, it can quickly gain height. This makes it in many aspects a more effective version of the glider introduced in Heart of Thorns.

Mounts are creatures used to enhance travel through the open world of Tyria, the Crystal Desert and Cantha. They are available through the Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire and Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons expansions. Two additional mounts can be obtained through the Living World Season 4, with the Roller Beetle being obtained in episode 3, Long Live the Lich, and the Skyscale in episode 6, War Eternal. The Warclaw is available exclusively through WvW. Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons added the Siege Turtle.

Basic Mount lvl 3 | Mounts are creatures used to enhance travel through the Crystal Desert and the open world of Tyria. They are available exclusively through the Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire expansion.

The Crystal Desert is the land that lies between the nations of Ascalon, Orr, and Elona. It is said that every grain of sand in the desert was in fact a tiny crystal, giving the region its name. The southern reaches of the Crystal Desert is full of sulfurous wastes, called the Desolation, once so toxic from Abaddon's influence that only the dead and demonic could pass. The Crystal Desert is famous for many legendary landmarks, including Glint's lair in the north and Augury Rock where Ascension was possible. At least two portals into the Mists were formed in the desert: one in the Tomb of the Primeval Kings leading to the Hall of Heroes, and another at the Mouth of Torment leading to the Realm of Torment.

Over the past millennia, many nations had tried to settle these lands, each one eventually succumbing to the sands. In modern day, the lich king Palawa Joko has extended the borders of Elona to the southern reaches of the Crystal Desert while the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik has branded the eastern portions. To the northern of the desert, defectors from Joko's empire have established new homes along the Bay of Elon and the highlands connected to the Shiverpeak Mountains.

Daily Fractal T4

Daily Fractal T4 rec CM /day

Fractals of the Mists is a special type of dungeon that consists of an array of mini-dungeons called fractals, where each fractal has its own story and environment. Characters are adjusted to level 80 within the dungeon. The dungeon is one of the primary sources of ascended equipment and provides materials for crafting infused equipment and attuned equipment.

The dungeon has some unique mechanics and design. The party can choose the difficulty scale prior to entering the dungeon or from within the observatory. This difficulty scale starts at 1 and can be increased, up to 100. The personal reward level is an account-wide stat that tracks the current position of the account on the difficulty scale. To increase the personal reward level, and therefore the highest fractal scale accessible to the account, the player must complete a single fractal on a fractal scale equal or greater to their personal reward level. This provides progression in the dungeon, allowing players to continuously complete higher and higher levels on the difficulty scale and earn greater rewards as a result.

When entering the dungeon, the players arrive in Mistlock Observatory, a "hub" area within the Mists. Entering Mistlock, you'll meet Dessa, a scientist who has made explorable chunks of reality from the Mists. There are hostile elements that were acquired during Mistlock which you are asked to dispose of. You may begin by entering the portal within the Mistlock to enter a fractal. You will hear Dessa's voice while stabilizing the fractal. Once it is stabilized, she and her krewe will transport you back to the Mistlock.

Daily Fractals is a subcategory of daily Fractals of the Mists achievements and the progress for each resets each day with the server reset. These dailies are on a 15-day rotation.

Daily Fractal T4 rec CM /day Notes :

Most fractals are designed for more than one person. For instance, you need at least three to complete the Underground Facility.
The Fractal Instability Trainer gives access to a training area where players can test their build against agony, mistlock instabilities, and enemies of various ranks.

- Level 80 Character

Ascended Shard Farm

Read Mode

Ascended Shard Farm each 100 shards

Ascended Shard  of Glory are a currency obtained from completing PvP league reward tracks. They can be used together with Shards of Glory to purchase ascended equipment from the Ascended Armor League Vendor and Ascended Weapon League Vendor; a complete set of one ascended armor costs 1200 Ascended Shards of Glory, 20 Grandmaster Marks, and 13 gold.

Acquisition :

Completing the last tier of each seasonal reward chest in the PvP league will award from 25 to 100 Ascended Shards of Glory. Repeated completions of the final reward tier, Byzantium, continue to reward 100 shards each (25 on 2vs2 seasons).

Ascended equipment is equipment of Ascended quality. All ascended equipment has a level 80 requirement and 5% stronger stats than Exotic quality equipment and equal to Legendary equipment. All ascended equipment is account bound.

Types :

Ascended armor
Ascended weapons
Ascended trinkets
Ascended back items

Trivia :

In the storyline of Guild Wars, Ascension was a rite that players had to go through in order to gain the Gift of True Sight, which allowed them to see and fight the mursaat. To defend against the Spectral Agony used by the foes, players could infuse their armor, similar to using infusion against the Agony effect of bosses in Fractals of the Mists.
Ascended equipment types were released in separate releases :

Rings and back items were introduced with The Lost Shores and were originally available only in Fractals of the Mists (November 16, 2012)
Amulets were introduced with Flame and Frost: Prelude (January 28, 2013)
Accessories were introduced with Flame and Frost: The Gathering Storm (February 26, 2013)
Weapons were introduced with Super Adventure Box: Back to School (September 3, 2013)
Armor was introduced with A Very Merry Wintersday 2013 (December 10, 2013)
Breathers were introduced with Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns (October 23, 2015).

3. Originally, the stats on ascended items were displayed in two parts: the base attributes and the upgrade-equivalent values. The May 28, 2013 update changed the display so that each attribute appears only once.
