About The Expedition Or Dungeon Mutation 

New World has a game mechanic that allows the player to do something different every day. Expedition and dungeon mutation is among those options, as the game will pick a unique combination of expeditions to mutate every week.  

It means, you might find a different mutation cycle every time you want to farm the umbral shard. Some of the examples are the combination of Dynasty Shipyard, garden of genesis, and Lazarus instrumentality. Those mutated expeditions are always marked on the map, which means you can join. 

How To Join The Expedition? 

There is no limit or gated experience for the mutation. It means you can run as much as you can per day. But the experience might differ. Means that the time it takes can affect your performance. 

However, you need Mutated expedition tuning orbs to gain access. As it is not always available, the time you join might fall around two per week. It is only available from Faction shop or crafting. To join, you only need to hover to the icon and join. 

How Much You Get? 

The reward will depend on the level and the final reward. The higher the level and score (bronze, silver, and gold), the higher the shard you got. So your point is that your reward will depend on your performance. The number might also differ based on the dungeon. The lowest you get is 200 (level 1 bronze) and the highest is 6000 (level 10 gold).
