New World Season 4 Eternal Frost Updates & Features
After the launch of Rise of the Angry Earth, Amazon has announced New World’s latest update titled Eternal Frost. Launching on December 12, it will bring a brand new storyline, expedition, artifacts, and much more. Along with this, a new season pass will also be available, along with some limited-time challenges that players can complete to earn exclusive cosmetics.
New Season Story
Players will be able to experience a brand new storyline in which “A Knight of the Round Table has unearthed forbidden knowledge of the Ancients, seeking to subjugate humanity with the power of an eternal winter.”Your goal will be to rally your team and convince a “surly fire mage named Daichi to help track down and vanquish the Knight before he lays waste to Aeternum.”
New Season Pass
Eternal Frost introduces a new Season Journey, new Activity Card, new Challenges, and new rewards including cosmetics and consumables.
New Expedition: The Glacial Tarn
Speaking of ice, which is no surprise given the season title, The Glacial Tarn is the new level 65 expedition coming. Set in the Great Cleave, where players will be able to prepare taking on ice magic and enemies.
New Artifacts
Eight new Artifacts will be a part of the next season and will feature their own quests. These feature their own quests and players will be able to obtain different ones to give their builds some extra versatility. Eight new Artifacts will help redefine player’s playstyle, providing options like the Boltcaster Bow to stun and shock enemies, Winged Shoes to boost speed and reduce cooldowns , The Frozen Gauntlet to freeze and finish enemies and more.
Future Updates: Cross World Expeditions With Improved Group Finder
Players will be able to team up with anyone from any world to complete challenges; however, they should be in the same region. To find the perfect groups, players can use the new one-click Group Finder that will automatically assemble a role-balanced, cross-world group, and players won’t have to do lobby management anymore.
Seasional Events: Winter Convergence Festival
A Winter Convergence Festival offers up festivities, and players can also collect Winter Tokens to earn new limited-time rewards including festive skins, emotes, housing items and more. Players can head out into the open world and take down the Winter Warrior and his legion of Frigid Folk in a 20-player event too.
Seasional Events: Legacy of Crassus
General Crassus’ forces are threatening Aeternum, and the job is to hunt down its monstrous captains and banish the shadow of Roman tyranny. Players will be able to search for portals in Brightwood, Weavers Fen, Mourningdale, Ebonscale Reach, and Edengrove, and each victory over them will give players new event-specific, daily rewards.
PTR
PTR preview for the new season begins November 9th. The PTR will offer a limited-availability server-set that grants an early preview of upcoming features and builds—from the Glacial Tarn Mutated Expedition to Weapon Balance updates. To help with the feedback process, all newly created PTR characters will be able to instantly level to select level-ranges outfitted with appropriate gear and items.
