Legendary Weapon Xiuquatl

Read Mode

Legendary Weapon Xiuquatl

Legendary weapons are a set of high-end weapons that have unique appearances. They have the same stats as ascended weapons, but stat combo and sigils are not locked and can be freely changed when out of combat. Legendary weapons are crafted in the Mystic Forge using a precursor weapon and the Gift of the Legendary Weapon associated with the desired end result, plus two other Gifts of Fortune and Mastery shared by other weapons of the same generation. Weapons of the first generation, released at the launch of Guild Wars 2, use Gift of Fortune and Gift of Mastery in their recipes, and second generation weapons, released during updates following Heart of Thorns, use Mystic Tribute and Gift of Maguuma Mastery, or Gift of Desert Mastery.

Legendary Weapon Xiuquatl

Xiuquatl is a legendary scepter1 crafted in the Mystic Forge.

Lore

This mysterious obelisk houses a winged serpent familiar who will faithfully accompany you in battle.

Graphics

Xiuquatl is an Aztec-themed scepter, imbued with the spirit of a snake deity. Upon drawing the weapon, the snake materializes next to the wielder of the scepter and follows them. A green aura surrounds the bearer of the weapon. While stowed, the scepter lies dormant and the winged serpent returns to the scepter as an Aztec carving.

Aura

A green mist covers the user of the scepter.

Draw/Stow effects

Upon drawing the weapon, the scepter erupts in green light. Broken shards of the top of the scepter circle it, and the snake materialises.
When stowed, the snake dematerialises and the broken pieces repair themselves.

Footfalls

Misty green puddles appear on the ground and linger for a while.

Trivia

Xiuquatl was released with Living World Season 4 Episode 4, A Star to Guide Us.
Xiuquatl may refer to the Nahuatl words 'xiu' and 'coatl' which mean 'fire' and 'serpent' (or 'twin'), respectively.
Xiuquatl may have been inspired by the Aztec deities Quetzalcoatl and Xiuhcoatl, which mean 'feathered serpent' and 'turqoise/fire serpent', respectively, in the Nahuatl language.

Legendary PvP Armor "Ardent Glorious armor"

Legendary armors are sets of armor of Legendary rarity. Like all legendary equipment, it is able to select any attribute combination available and can be changed at any time while out of combat. Additionally, it is possible to swap out any slotted upgrade component (runes and infusions) that has been placed in them at no cost (swapped out items are returned to your inventory). There is currently one set of each weight for each game mode.

PvP armor set

This armor retains the visual look of the Ascended PvP armors

It takes 300 PvP League Ticket.png to obtain a full set of Legendary PvP armor. With the season cap of 100 PvP League, this will take 3 seasons of reaching the season cap. It takes 3,600 Ascended Shard of Glory.png to obtain a full set of Legendary PvP armor: 2,400  Star of Glory and 1,200  for the full Ascended Glorious armor set. Players may earn the necessary 300 PvP League Ticket.png and 3,600  over any number of PvP seasons they wish, but there are three recommended routes for acquiring these currencies:

6330 PvP pips earned over 3 seasons: To finish as fast as possible, the player must complete 3 seasons of the non-repeatable PvP League reward chests. At any time during these 3 seasons, they must also complete the final repeatable Byzantium reward chest 24 times to accumulate the rest of the  required. This path requires the most PvP games to be played, because the higher tiered reward chests that are repeated via this pathway provide less per pip than the lower tiered ones, which can be repeated by playing over a greater number of seasons.

6030 PvP pips earned over 9 seasons: To finish without completing the repeatable Byzantium reward chest at all, the player must complete all of the non-repeatable PvP League reward chests 9 times.

5440 PvP pips earned over 16 seasons: To finish with the fewest number of PvP games played, the player must not complete all of the non-repeatable PvP League reward chests in a single season. Instead, they should stop each season after completing the Persimmon chest. This is because the lower tiers of reward chest provide more Ascended Shard of Glory.png per pip earned than the higher tiers

HoT Story

While the Pact is poised to launch its campaign against the jungle dragon Mordremoth, the Pact Commander unveils a terrible truth: The sylvari are creations of the Dragon. So begins the story of Guild Wars 2's first expansion pack: Heart of Thorns!

A note about spoilers: a brief summary aside, this article assumes a basic knowledge of the plot of Living World Season 1 and Living World Season 2. Since the story of Heart of Thorns begins in 1327 AE, and the personal story takes place in 1325 AE, it is likely that this article will contain personal story spoilers, as story threads that began in the personal story may be continued with the expansion.

Heart of Thorns was released on October 23rd, 2015.

Setting HoT Story

The leaders of Tyria have heeded Marshal Trahearne's call to arms, and troops of all races gathered in Camp Resolve to bolster the Pact's reduced numbers, ready to advance into the Heart of Maguuma to slay the Elder Dragon Mordremoth. With Rytlock Brimstone lost in the Mists and Caithe having run off with Glint's Egg, the remaining members of Destiny's Edge Eir Stegalkin, Logan Thackeray, and Zojja accompany the assault.

Meanwhile, the Commander and their allies Braham, Rox, Marjory Delaqua, Kasmeer Meade and Taimi are deep below the Silverwastes, following the footsteps of Caithe to retrieve Glint's Egg. It is there that they learn of the sylvari's true origins as servants of Mordremoth, a secret previously known to only Caithe and the Pale Tree.

Despite all their preparations, the Pact Fleet is annihilated above Verdant Brink, as enormous vines tear apart the airships, and many sylvari heed the call of their creator, turning on their allies in a surprise attack. The survivors are scattered across the jungle, desperately trying to survive the continuing onslaught of Mordrem; the fates of Destiny's Edge and Trahearne are unknown.
