GW2 Ascended Gears . This is some of the recipes that you should do in order to get GW 2 ascended gears. Some of them, such as backpieces, amulets, rings, and accessories, come with some changes that you should notice. Upon many updates and patches, there are not a lot of changes. So, you can try to do some of this guide first.

Upgrading And Downgrading
The upgrading and downgrading the GW2 Ascended gear work with two possible options. The one is the mist essence and the second is the only upgrade for ascended rings. Here are what you should gather to do the action
1. You can upgrade and downgrade mist essences
• Upgrade: 5 of Vial/Glob of Mist essence + 1 Mystic Coin + 1 1 Pile of Crystalline Dust 1 Glob of Ectoplasm = 1 Glob/Shard of Mist essence
• Downgrade: 1 Shard or Glob of Mist Essence + 1 Mystic Coin + 1 1 Pile of Crystalline Dust + 1 Master Salvage Kit = 3 of lower tier essence.
2. You can upgrade ascended rings into infused versions
• Infused ring = 1 Shard of Crystallized Mists Essence + 3 Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence + 5 Vial of Condensed Mists Essence + Non infused ring

Backpieces
For the backpieces ascended gears, there are some precautions that you should notice beforehand. Upon the new patch, if you upgrade any of the backpieces from the basic Ascended version to the Infused, you will lose the infusion you applied to it. Therefore, it is better to wait for the final version to apply any fancy infusions.
There are now 2 methods to make Ascended back pieces. The first method is via grinding as it uses about 1835 fractal relics from the Fractal of the Mists dungeon. The second method is via mostly gold as you need a lot of globs of ectoplasm and T6 fine crafting materials. Here is the explanation for you.
1. Grinding
Ascended Version (Prototype Fractal Capacitor)
This method makes the Ascended version of the Prototype Fractal Capacitor, which has no glow.
The Fractal of the Mists vendor sells exotic version of the Prototype Fractal Capacitor for 1350 Fractal Relics. There are 4 versions with different stats
The vendor also sells Gift of the Ascension for 500 Fractal Relics.
Now, you need to take both items (1850 relics in total) to the mystic forge and use the following recipes to make the Ascended version with either Offensive or Defensive slot (it is opposite of books/quivers with crystals and philosopher’s stone)
• Offensive Slot = 1x Prototype Fractal Capacitor + 1x Gift of the Ascension+ 40 Crystals + 1 Vial of Condensed Mists Essence
• Defensive Slot = 1x Prototype Fractal Capacitor + 1x Gift of the Ascension+ 240 Philosopher’s Stone + 1 Vial of Condensed Mists Essence
Note: Both Philosopher’s Stone and Crystals are brought from Miyani near the Mystic Forge in Lion’s Arch. Vial of Condensed Mists Essence is a rare drop from the Fractal of Mists Dungeon
Infused Version (Beta Fractal Capacitor)
To make the infused Version of the Prototype Fractal Capacitor (It is called Beta Fractal Capacitor), you will need to use the following components in the mystic forge
Note that this places an agony infusion slot on the back piece in addition to the infusion slot from the ascended Prototype Fractal Capacitor. This slot is empty if you have created an infused version after the Nov 26, 2013 update. If you have done this before the update, it is filled with a +5 Agony Infusion.
Fractal Capacitor (Infused)
You can combine the Beta Fractal Capacitor with Shard of Crystallized Mists Essence, Glob of Ectoplasm, and Gift of Ascension again to make an upgraded version of the Beta Fractal Capacitor. This version is simply called Fractal Capacitor (Infused) and have the glow effects
2. Gold
This method makes Ascended books and quivers and it is fairly expensive due to the amount of Glob of Ectoplasm and T6 Fine Crafting material it requires (especially if you are making the one using the Vial of Powerful Blood).
Since the Nov 26, 2013 update, players can now use 250 Bloodstone Dust instead of 1 Vial of Condensed Mists Essence to make their ascended back pieces. Infusing them, which adds the agony resist slot, still requires Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence.
General formula
1 Vial of Condensed Mists Essence or 250 Bloodstone Dust + 250 Philosopher’s Stone/40 Crystal + 50 Glob of Ectoplasm + 250 T6 Fine Crafting material (except for venom sacs and totems)
Note: Both Philosopher’s Stone and Crystals are brought from Miryani near the Mystic Forge in Lion’s Arch. Vial of Condensed Mists Essence is a rare drop from the Fractal of Mists Dungeon
Infused Version
GW2 Ascended Gears. All of the quivers and books below can be upgraded to the Infused version by using the following recipe in the mystic forge. The infused version adds an agony infusion slot to the item, allowing you to place agony infusions onto them. If you did it before the update, the slot is filled with a +5 agony infusion.
Quivers – All with Offensive Infusion Slots
All of the quivers below share identical appearance and contain Offensive Infusion Slot. The Infused version contains an agony infusion slot that allows you to place agony resist infusions onto them.
Books – All with Defensive Infusion Slots
All of the books/tomes below share identical appearance and contain Defensive Infusion Slot. The Infused version already has +5 agony resistance in them in addition to the Defensive Infusion Slot.

Infusions
Regarding the infusion, there are some other things that you should always consider. It is very much important to know the point of infusions and how it affect you ascended gears. It also highly affected with your GW 2 ascended gears upgrade. Here is some point to know.
1. Agony infusion vs regular infusions
It is now important to differentiate between agony infusions which only go into the agony infusion slot on ascended items. The regular infusions can go into the regular infusion slot and can contain agony resist as well. There is now a difference in the term agony infusions which specifically apply to these new infusions and agony resist infusions which can mean any infusions (regular or agony) with agony resist.
2. Upgrading agony infusions
You can combine two identical agony infusions to upgrade to the next tier. For example, two +1 agony infusions can be combine together to make a single +2 agony infusion. Two +2 agony infusions can be combined together to make a single +3 agony infusion.
You will need to be Artificer (100) to perform the upgrade which also requires Thermocatalytic Reagent that can be purchased from the Master Artificer near the crafting stations. The basic +1 agony infusion is dropped from the final chest of each fractal but can be also brought on the Trading Post.
3. Regular infusions crafted in the Mystic Forge (agony resistance + additional stat)
Note: Eldritch Scroll is purchased from Miyani near the Mystic Forge in Lion’s Arch. Karka Shells, Passion Flowers, Passion Fruits can be brought on the trading post, obtained from the new Consortium Chests, or harvested/dropped from Southsun Cove.
Some of the infusions only require 1 Philosopher stone rather than 50 Philosopher stones. This might be an unintended change. Double check when buying Philosopher stones. So far Vital and Resilient infusions are confirmed to use 1 Philosopher Stone
4. Regular infusions purchased from fractal dungeon vendor (agony resistance only)
Infusions with just agony resistance can also be purchased from the Fractal of the Mists dungeon using tokens earned from the dungeon

5. Regular infusions purchased from the laurel vendor (basic stat only)
The vendor is located just outside the WvW portals in Lion’s Arch. He sells 3 types of infusions, none of them containing any agony resist. They are defensive, offensive, utility types. Note that the utility infusion slot only exist on amulets.

Rings
For the GW2 Ascended Gears rings, you can do a lot with it. In the case to help you with that, there are basically three main methods to get them. You can get lucky with drops, buying from the vendor, and buying from the laurel vendor. But if you are an active WvW player, then you got the chance to obtain it from rank up chest. Good luck!
Here are the explanation for you
1. Getting rings as daily reward chest drops
Starting with tier 10 and above, players can receive a daily bonus chest from completing even tiers containing an Ascended quality ring. At tier 20+, players can receive an Infused version of the Ascended ring (already comes with agony resistance). With the Wintersday update, players who are doing tier 26 and higher fractals will only receive infused version of ascended rings through the daily chest (i.e. non-infused Ascended rings will no longer drop from the daily chests at tier 26 and above).
2. Buying ascended rings
• At the daily chest for tier 10 and higher fractals, players are guaranteed a Pristine Fractal Relic. If you have 10 of such relic, you can purchase an Ascended ring at the Golem Merchant BUY-437 inside Fractal of the Mists hub.
• Alternatively, players can buy the same rings from the laurel vendors at 35 laurels each (earned from daily and monthly achievements). These rings are identical to the ones from the fractal dungeon vendor.
• WvW players can purchase the same rings at their WvW laurel vendor for 25 laurels + 250 Badges of Honor each.
3. Upgrading ascended ring to infused ring
The Wintersday update provided us with a method to upgrade from regular ring to infused ring in the mystic forge. Infused ring = 1 Shard of Crystallized Mists Essence + 3 Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence + 5 Vial of Condensed Mists Essence + Non infused ring

Amulets
GW2 Ascended Gears amulets were introduced with the Flame and Frost prelude patch. Currently, the only method to obtain them is via laurel vendors. Laurels are earned from daily and monthly achievements (1 laurel per daily, 10 per monthly). All Ascended amulets cost 30 laurels each and contain either Defensive, Offensive, or Utility infusion slots.

Accessories
GW2 Ascended Gears. accessories were introduced with Flame and Frost: The Gathering Storm February path. There are two ways currently to obtain them. You can purchase them in the Guild Commendations vendor near the bank in Lion’s Arch for 5 old and 12 Guild Commendations earned via Guild Missions.
Alternatively, you can purchase them from the laurel vendor at a price of 40 laurels and 50 Globs of Ectoplasm. Here is a list of Ascended Accessories and their stat combinations. Note that like rings, you have two accessory slots.
