New World Stonecutting is a Refining Trade Skill in New World. It is the refining process of turning Raw Gemstones obtained through Mining into Cut Gemstones which can then be socketed into Weapons and Armor with Empty Gem Sockets to provide certain effects. Refining skills turn raw resources obtained through Gathering skills into usable Crafting materials and other useful items. It involves the melting down of raw ore into metal ingots and more.
New World Stonecutting is the Refining process of turning Raw Gemstones into Cut Gemstones which can then be used to create Trinkets. A higher level in Stonecutting will allow players to cut higher-tier gems.
It is performed at a Table which can often be found in Settlements. It Tables have a Tier level which can be increased by taking on Town Projects. Cut Gemstones each have a tier level requirement in order to craft. This tier level corresponds to the Table’s tier level. If your settlement’s table level does not meet the requirement, you will need to either raise it or find another settlement with a Stonecutting Table of a higher tier. Cutting gems requires the player to be of the appropriate it level as well. Leveling up in Stonecutting is a straightforward process. Players simply need to continuously cut gems to raise their level in the skill. Collecting resources, however, is more involved and can prove more difficult.

Stonecutting is a great complementary skill for Jewelcrafting due to the many recipes in the skill line that require gems as crafting ingredients. It is also directly valuable to players who have invested in the Mining skill as it is the primary source of raw gemstones.
The Stonecutting crafting process begins by interacting with a Table, a crafting station found in Settlements. Within the crafting UI, you can see all your learned recipes on the left panel for all Crafting skills associated with the crafting station. Selecting a recipe displays the item and its required materials in the middle panel while displaying a preview of the potential result on the right.
