In many cases crafting legendary weapon 2 can be a daunting tasks.
Once again I can only say that the generation 2 is daunting but can be worth your time. It come with different effect, use, power, even those fancy sound effect or footsteps. At the same time, you should notice that the weapon is account bound and cannot be traded. This is means you have to craft it from the scratch. Within this generation there are two basic categories. Weapons with quest line or those without quest line but require additional mountain of materials.
==============================================================================

The Crafting Basic

For the first four second generation legendaries, many of the components have to be acquired in the Heart of Maguuma, and each precursor weapon is Account Bound and can only be acquired by completing three collections in the Legendary Weapons category. These collections are unlocked through the Scholar of Secrets mastery, along with a subsequent collection required to get one of the subcomponents for the legendary weapon gift.
For the mace Eureka, and any new legendaries to be released after it, the process of legendary crafting is slightly changed. There are no more themed precursor collections, but instead recipes used to craft the different tiers of the precursor can be purchased directly from Grandmaster Craftsman Hobbs (if the corresponding Legendary Crafting mastery has been unlocked). Furthermore, the new legendary weapon gifts require Mystic Runestones instead of Icy Runestones.
Here are the 16 legendary weapon tier 2 you can choose from

Gift of Meguuma Mastery

This is a gift that considered as one of the vital component to create legendary weapon. All in all, to create one Mastery, you will need to craft and combine other items in Mystic forge. Basically, you will need one gift of maguuma, one gift of insights, one bloodstone shard, and 250 Crystaline Ingot. That it is, but once again it is not an easy mission.

Precursor Weapons

The last but not the least of the required component is the precursor weapon. Different from the previous generation, the heart of thorns update brings additional requirement for precursor crafting. You will need to have a special mastery track for unlocking the crafting. After that you got two ways of precursor weapon acquisitions.
1. Completing The 3 Tiers Of Legendary Weapons Collection For The Given Weapon
2. Crafting 3 Tier Of Precursors With Recipes Bought From Grandmaster Craftsman Hobbs.
It is also worth noting that the precursor weapon items vary with each legendary weapon.
==============================================================================

Crafting Precursor Weapon On Heart Of Thorns

After the release of the HOT in 2015, you can say that the game brings a major update. Whether it is for the gameplay, gears, and mechanism, the precursor weapon crafting somewhat affected by it too. So, just as mentioned before, you will need mastery tracks to unlock the precursor crafting. This new progression system is introduced for legendary crafting.
The first three tiers of the mastery track are dedicated to guide you through three set on the first precursors which were introduced on the original GW 2. To make it blunt, you have to go all of the steps to finally unlock the journey of crating the legendary weapon II. Those steps are basically consisting of three different tiers of collection.

1. The Distressed Version Of The Existing Precursor Skin

It is also worth to see that each of the legendary weapons has two main themes or basic categories. One that has questline and the other is about the gathering material.
The questline is mainly about hunting. You need to finish the related quest to finally acquire or open the recipe to craft the first iteration of your precursor weapon. By finishing the quest, you will unlock a nontradable exotic weapon with a better version of the existing precursor skin.
It does the same with the gathering materials that built around one of the required themes. Let’s use the Moot as an example. A moot is a norn celebration of prowess, so that’s the basis of our themes for the legendary mace named for it.

2. Research, Talking To The Expert, And Honing Your Craft

You’ll need to barter for knowledge, seek out great minds and convince them to teach you their tricks, and prove your ability at the crafting workbench. All this work allows you to refine your base precursor into its next iteration. Basically, you will have to move around talk to many merchant or master to gain enough level for crafting. Completing this collection unlocks a recipe to do just that, resulting in another nontradable exotic weapon with the existing precursor skin.

3. Return To The Themes Of Their Respective Legendary Weapon

This final collection unlocks the recipe to craft the polished final iteration of the precursor. For all of our existing precursors, this is a tradable exotic weapon, but they will all be updated to use new skins that look much like the legendary weapons they’ll one day become. We like to think of these new precursor skins as the legendary weapon before it is embodied by its soul. Unlocking one of these new skins in your wardrobe will also unlock the two previous tiers of skins. So, should you get lucky and find a precursor out in the world, you won’t miss out on the skins.
The crafting system is an account based activity, which means you’ll only be able to craft each precursor this way and unable to trade them. However, if you want a particular precursor more than once, the, you will have to do all of the original acquisition method once again. After that, you are free to turn them into a legendary weapon. Once again, remember that this is a long process. You need to gather, craft, even completing numerous map, gain lots of gifts, to get the weapons.

Map Bonuses

Since the HOT expansion has affect the precursor acquisition, more or less the new Map Bonuses system will move you to a more directed activity. What it is means? Did you notice that some of the items require map completions? Especially maps that come along in the Heart of thorns expansion? You can say that most of the explorable maps will have an associated set of bonus rewards that rotate on a regular basis.
Completing events, jumping puzzles, or mini dungeons in a map, will award you with one of its associated bonuses along with the normal reward. For most maps, the bonus reward will be crafting materials. For example, playing in Cursed Shore could reward you with ancient bones, charged cores, charged lodestones, or giant eyes during one rotation, and powerful venom sacs, glacial cores, glacial lodestones, or globs of ectoplasm during another rotation.
Maps like the Silverwastes or Dry Top that have a dedicated currency will work a little differently. For these maps, bandit crests and geodes have been something of a test for this concept, where you’re rewarded with these currencies through a bouncy chest for playing on the map.
The Map Bonuses system is a more streamlined experience, and with Heart of Thorns, these maps will be updated to always award currencies through the Map Bonuses system. Moving forward, any map with a similar currency will also work within the Map Bonuses system.
The goals of this system are to provide ways for players to target the materials they need, let players know exactly where to obtain those materials, and help all explorable maps always feel like relevant and rewarding places to play.
All in all, every player might have the same idea that crafting a legendary weapon can be a painstaking task. Especially, when you need to acquire the associated precursor weapons and gathering all of the relating materials. With the new update of HOT, people say that the process is too much grinding or too expensive. But some of them are enjoying it, especially with the map bonuses system. Still up to for crafting the weapon? Read further for the detailed information.
