Guild War 2 Legendary Weapon II Achievement Guide – Part 1 – ASTRALARIA
Legendary Weapon II Astralaria : The new Heart of Thorns expansion came with numerous updates, including the cool looking legendary weapons. You must admit the total of 36 legendary weapons has create a turmoil of confusion to choose “which one is what you want”. Especially, with the generation 2 weapons that doesn’t want to lose its beauty.
One of the interesting gear is the Astralaria, the axe class weapon that clad in beautiful effect and appearance. It also has high requirement to make it, including getting the precursor weapon “the Mechanism”. To get the required weapon, you should finish a total of four weapon achievements. What are they and how to finish them? Read further for more detail.

Astralaria Legendary Weapon
Astralaria is a big legendary axe weapon in Guild Wars 2. This particular weapon belongs to the generation 2 weapons. You can only find this weapon, after you install the new Heart of Thorns expansion. The name itself is resembling the effect of stars and constellation which is the meaning of its name. Along with the beauty of its appearance, effect, the footfalls, and the skills effect, this axe is also powerful.
It has rugged strength which reach up to 900 – 1,100. Another thing that noticeable is the abundance of selectable prefixes. It can come out with Assasin, Carrion, Dire, Grieving, Knights, etc. Since this weapon rarity is legendary, the character that can use it is only those with minimum level of 80. And lastly, this beautiful axe is account bound which means your other characters (in one account) are able to equip the weapon.

Crafting Astralaria
So, what do you need to create this amazing powerful axe? Just like any other legendary weapon generation 2, crafting it will require mystic tribute, gift of maguuma mastery, gift of legendary weapon (the gift of Astralaria), and the precursor weapon (the mechanism). All of them can be obtained by forging or crafting using some other certain components.

One thing for sure, all of the process of gathering, looting, purchasing, or forging won’t be easy. The process can be very painstaking, tedious, and time consuming. Especially, when you notice that every required items come with primary ingredients that also hard to obtain.
This is getting more complicated for your precursor weapon “the Mechanism”. You can see that you should finish 3 achievements, The Device, Apparatus, and The mechanism. The Astralaria Legendary Weapon 2 Achievement Guide
Not all of the legendary weapon generation 2 need weapon achievements for their precursor weapon. But unfortunately, the Mechanism can only be obtained by finishing four tier of achievements. The legendary weapon collection achievements are means to introduce or tell you the story of the Astralaria itself. From the first to the end, you will need to do numerous things. Such as gathering information, speaking, looting, to hunting, everything is required to complete the tiers.

The Astralaria I : The Device
This is the first step to gain the first tier of the precursor the device. Being part of the legendary weapons collection achievements, the mission will tell you the beginning of crafting process for the legendary Astralaria axe.
There is a story behind each of the achievement. In this phase, you got the story of old saying in the history of Tyria. The saying goes: The history of Tyria is written in the stars, and indeed, the tales of the past and hints of the future are inscribed in the heavens.
With the story behind it, you can say that the first mission will relate to the old saying. The first tier weapon achievement demands you to help Ogden Stonehealer in revealing and gathering ancient knowledge in your guest to create the Device. It can be said that you are required to collect items related to the information about the ancient knowledge.
To do this first tier of weapon collection achievement, you should have the Revered Antiquarian. A mastery that obtained after buying the chest of legendary shards from the Laurel vendor. Remember that this is pre-requirement which means you should complete it before going for the Device tier.
This tier requires you to collect 19 items that can be found by finishing jumping puzzle, discover some knowledge, completing other achievement, found in treasure room, ask from someone, and many more. Worth noting that every items are distributed everywhere across the map. So, you need to go about the whole map to finish and get everything.

After you got all of the items and finish the achievement, you will be rewarded a Chest of Ancient Knowledge and unlocking the Astralaria Volume 1. Everything listed on it are in order, thus you should follow it when starting your Astralaria achievement journey. Then, you can continue to the next step or second tier of weapon achievement.

The Astralaria II : The Apparatus
Apparatus is the second phase or weapon achievement tier you should complete. This achievement can only available if you have finished the first tier. As said on the previous step, this phase also has Its own story.
Base on the in game description and lore, the apparatus is just the start of your journey. After you finish the first step, the creation of the Mechanism precursor weapon has been successful. But unfortunately the weapon is not on its optimal condition. It’s just the beginning anyway, thus you should continue the phase.
In this second tier precursor weapon achievement, you will continue the research. You need to find a teacher, then research the procedure, and finally hone your skills. In this case, you can say the story goes with you going around the Tyria Map to interact with many people. Mostly, those people are the master weaponsmith and the Scholar Mossi that you can find everywhere.
However, some interaction needs some requirements. You got to prepare hundreds or even thousands of component to complete the whole precursor weapon crafting. All of your interaction and talk to the other NPCs will reward you with certain items.
You can see on the table below, that every items are obtained by speaking and learn some knowledge from NPCs. However, worth noting that there is a prerequisite item you should have which is the Magister of Legends. You will need three mastery items to get the Magister of legends. After you got this item, you can now purchase components require for the creation of second-tier precursor weapons.
Remember that this is not the last tier or phase in the particular achievement. So, you should get ready for the next tier as well. So what you have to do after finishing this achievement? As you gather everything and eventually complete the achievement, you will be given a Tricks and Tips for Celestial Axe Crafting plus unlocking the Device. You can do it, right? Well done! The Astralaria III: The Mechanism
In the third-tier weapon achievement for the Mechanism, you will do more than the previous steps. Basically, you will have to do more barbaric things than just asking and interacting with NPCs. You have to salvage, loot, completing adventure, searching for some materials, and buying some material from certain vendor.
The main idea and difficulty of this tier is almost the same. You can say that you have to move around the Tyria Map to find the required items. It is an easy task? No. People say that this phase is actually taking more time than you think. All was due to the fact that you must collect 33 items to complete this third tier.
What make this phase unique is the story behind it. Worth noting that every achievement tier come in one theme that also has relating background story. Here, the story goes with the idea that you should gather the fallen stars that struck upon Tyria. Why you need them? The reason is to add your precursor weapon ability.
So, the lore of the GW 2 said that the heavens grant their gives toward Tyria in the form of meteor that streak across the skies. Gathering the fallen stars and use it to craft the spinning armillary is the main purpose of this third journey. The power will rest in the heart of the legendary weapon, making it beautiful and powerful at the same time.
You should do this to create the precursor weapon “the Mechanism.” After you do that, you can move to the next step to attain Astralaria. In the gameplay point of view, you should go gathers tons of items. But make sure you got the Historian of the Armament which is the prerequisite item you should own beforehand. After you gather the total of 33 items and the extra component, you will unlock the Apparatus and rewarded with the Chest of Time and Space. This achievement will lead you to the next and the last tier of the Mechanism weapon collection achievement.

The Astralaria IV: The Cosmos
When you are reaching this stage, you will have to gather more items than the previous one. While the third tier is already painstaking to do, in this one you should gather components that almost double in total. Be ready to move around in the whole Tyria map to collect the total of 54 items. A very big number of collections which is worth your time, as you will get the cool looking Astralaria legendary weapon.
Let’s talk a bit about the story behind the tasks. In the Astralaria IV: The Cosmos the story goes with the heaven that finally aligned to support you in your quest. However, you should prove yourself and chart their places within the heaven. All was to discern their wisdom, defeat the Elder Dragons, and their spawn that threaten the world.
Base on the story itself, you might imagine what kind of items and how to achieve it. No! if you think you will fight dragon, then you are wrong. Believe it or not, you should complete the task that consist of searching, crafting, purchasing, and looting items. Then you also combining magic even interacting with Ogden In the Drumand Priory to get his notes.
Be grateful that you don’t need to fight anything. But nevertheless, this achievement is quite painstaking. The components are quite rare that you might need to do certain things or looks at certain time. It is also important to has Scholar of Secrets as the prerequisite item. All in all, this last phase is really hard to do.

However, it is doesn’t means the process is impossible. It just takes more time, effort, and knowledge to gather all of them. So, can you collect everything? If you do, congrats!
